Text Analysis for Higher Education
Whether it's student satisfaction, campus climate, or alumni surveys, analyzing open-ended comments from the results can be a daunting task. No software installation and coding experience is required.
Identify key concepts from NLP and linguistics and how they are used to analyze language.
Apply general NLP functions in the Natural Language Toolkit (NLTK) package in Python. Using Google Colab.
Interpret and visualize the results.
Recognize some of NLTK's limitations.
This workshop was originally presented to members of the British Columbia Institutional Research and Planners (BCIRP) Association on May 25, 2020.
